Transbay Paneling and Flooring
This wood was originally pilings that were driven into the brackish mud of San Francisco by way of a steam-powered pile driver in 1938. The pilings served for decades as the support to a structure that saw ten train cars every 63 seconds and over 35 million passengers annually. The years spent in the brackish mud had an effect on the wood, changing its natural light pinkish color to oranges, light browns, various hues of purple, and some black.
All of this adds up to a unique-looking wood that screams “look at me” when used as paneling or flooring.
While our most common finishing thickness is 3/4″, thicker or thinner options are available. Finishing cover can be 3″ to 8-1/2″. Transbay is available in Mid and High Grade.
