Custom Milling

Two millhands double-checking measurements before cutting box beam material from a 32 foot long 10″x22″ beam graded #1.

Crossroads Recycled Lumber offers custom milling and planing.  Our services include:

  • Bandsaw Reclaimed Timbers to a specific dimension
  • Circlesawn Rescued Ponderosa Pine to a specific dimension
  • Surface Reclaimed Timbers 1, 2, 3, or 4 sides
  • Custom Flooring and Paneling patterns, including Tongue & Groove, Shiplap, and V-Groove
  • Mouldings, such as Baseboard, Chair Rail, Crown Moulding, and more
  • Hand hewing of old Timbers.  Fresh hewing shows new wood with historic character marks such as bolt and nail holes, black oxide staining.
  • Wire and nylon brushing

Grading

CRL (Crossroads Recycled Lumber) FOHC (Free of Heart Center) #1G (Graded Number 1)

CRL uses over 80 years of combined experience to choose all the beams that will receive the Grader’s stamp of approval. Because of this, if Certified Grading is not needed, assurance can be taken by the fact that our In-house Grading is usually enough to satisfy most building requirements.

Certified Grading

CRL employees roll out preselected beams for the Certified Grader to approve.

CRL offers certified grading that is accepted in any state in the union. This is done by independently certified graders who refer to West Coast Lumber Inspection Bureau rules from the Standard No.17 grading book, an industry standard. Additional time and an extra charge needed for this service.
